Allen Cunningham has picked up a host of accolades over the course of his career, not least of which is his 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Player of the Year award.

The results that brought him his title included his 3rd WSOP bracelet at the $1 500 No-Limit Hold’em Event, which earned him $725 405.

In total, Cunningham reached four final tables at the 2005 WSOP. Along with his World Series of Poker Player of the Year award, he also won a pick-up truck. He came close to winning the award again in 2006 and was voted by other professional poker players as the Best All Around Player under 35, a title he is extremely proud of.

Cunningham has won a total of five WSOP bracelets and is one of 16 professional poker players on the All-Time WSOP Bracelet Winners list to have achieved this feat.

The player nicknamed “Clever Piggy” is also one of only a few distinguished players – including Doyle Brunson, Johnny Moss and Erik Seidel to win bracelets three years running (2005, 2006, 2007).

He has yet to win a WSOP Main Event, but Cunningham finished 4th at the 2006 WSOP Main Event, netting a cool $3.6 million. He has finished in the money at the World Series of Poker an impressive 33 times.

The 2005 Player of the Year has won over $9.6 million in live tournament prize money.

Cunningham also has a number of titles outside the WSOP and it might be unwise to bet against him becoming the first to win the World Series of Poker Player of he Year award for a second time.
